Constant Cravings

Weekly Sweet Sensations:

It's that time of the week again where I share my current food/fashion cravings with you all!

This week's fashion feature is ALL about LANVIN.

If I'm ever questioned: "what's your all time favourite fashion designer/ label", I don't think I can ever come up with a straight answer.

I used to LOVE Gucci and YSL rive gauche when Tom Ford was the creative mind behind the label, adored Chloe when Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo were the master minds behind the label and hearts Valentino pretty dresses and feminine designs!

As the fashion industry continues to bloom and the "old" (as we know it) labels are overshadowed by up-and-coming fashion designers/house i.e Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Christian Siriano (amazing designs) and so on, it's even harder to pin point my "favourite" - why can't I love ALL?

Lanvin, however, has been consistent season after season, from accessories to clothing - amazing is the only word I can use to describe the talented Alber Elbaz! Every time I come across an amazing piece of accessory - be it a ring, shoes or necklace, the label reads "Lanvin".

Lanvin Sandals

Lanvin one shoulder dress - not intentional, but they don't call me "Lady in red" for nothing - always drawn to this colour!

Lanvin feather necklace - LOVE THIS, yes I have a soft spot for statement jewellery and feathers....can you tell? ;)

Patatas Bravas - fave Spanish tapas dish!!! Had it tonight actually, but not as good as the one at Encasa (Pitt Street, Sydney)

Oysters @ Tetsuya's - I was actually teary when I had these, never tasted oysters so good, I was overwhelmed ;)

restaurant review + pretty in pink

The Malaya - King St Wharf

Malaysian cuisine, like most Asian cuisines are rich in flavour.
In  particular, Malaysians, influenced by their Indian counterparts, as a result their cuisine is heavily infused with lots of spices and herbs.Typical Malaysian dishes consists of rotti bread and curry, nasi (fried) rice etc

In Sydney, the Malaysian community appears to be growing as what was originally scarce (in comparison to Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurants) is now more prominent and you can find a local Malaysian restaurant just about in every suburb (town, district).

The Malaya, located in Sydney's famous Lime Street amongst the likes of Kobe Jones is your typical Western-fusion Malaysian food. I'd recommend coming here for birthdays/ parties/ large group bookings as the banquet menu has large servings and no one will leave the room hungry. Whatever you do, make sure you order their yummy mocktails - the "Mei Ling" in particular!

What to wear to a place like this? Since it wasn't a cheap/tacky Asian restaurant in Chinatown, it's okay to wear heels, nice accessories and take plenty of photos!

Feather turquoise necklace + matching bracelet from Fashion Weekend; Hermes enamel cuff; Tiffany and co charm bracelet; Vivienne Westwood armour ring

DYI pink wide leg pants; vintage fur crop jacket; Louis Vuitton Courtney Clutch

would you like some sweet chilli sour cream with that?

Okay - not exactly the edible kind, but definitely eye candy!

I've never been the full on girly girl type, definitely love a pretty dress and sky high stilettos, however since most of my friends are somewhat vertically challenged, I occasionally feel the need to steer away from gigantic heels! Well, that and because I am incapable of mastering how to walk and run in them!

As a result, wedges/ platforms/ chunky heels are my best friend!

So hard to choose amongst the eye candies to showcase for this post however the following looks great when I put them together in a collage! Yes?

Top L-R: Report Signature; Michael Antonio; Elizabeth and James
Middle L-R: Maurie & Eve; DVF; Topshop
Bottom L-R: Givenchy; Finsk; Alejandro Ingelmo

guilty pleasures

Image as a social product:

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the amount of facebook check-ins at the gym, status updates regarding some form of physical workout and whatnot has increased dramatically.
This marks the question, "are we all becoming more concerned with our image"? Is obesity socially regarded as a health issue or an image issue?

Whatever the trend is, I've never been one to read what a food product contains, whether it's "good" for you or not. No, not sure how many calories or kilojoules is in that, sorry! If it's yummy, it's going in my belly - at any given time, at any given day. An entire bar of chocolate at 8am in the morning? Why not?!

So I've always been more into my savoury goods than my desserts, I'd much prefer hot chips over a bar of chocolate, so when it comes to finding the right place for a quick sweet-tooth-fix, I am limited to choice. If you have recommendations/suggestions, I'd love to hear it!

Totally random post dinner food outing - passion flower for 2 and a mega slice of pizza at the kebab shop. Well, because we can :)
As it was a totally random night, threw an outfit together and voila! I am a firm believer that one can NEVER have too much accessories (and bags and shoes, and what the heck, clothes too) - I love to spice up every outfit with accessories!
